Eco-Expeditions

Dr. Craig O'Connell has explored the globe and has not only interacted with wildlife, but has made international partnerships and friendships.  Through these relationships, Craig has been lucky enough to be shown some of the most unique and isolated locations on the planet.  With Craig's mentality being focused on education through research, adventure, and exploration, Craig would like to take you to several locations and give you an experience of a lifetime.

Bimini, Bahamas

Craig has traveled to Bimini over 40 times in the past 10 years.  Through his expeditions, he has encountered and peacefully shared water with Atlantic spotted dolphins, great hammerhead sharks, Caribbean reef sharks, bull sharks, among many others.

For your experience, you will be staying in a fully-equipped beachfront house which can easily accomodate a family of 6.  Your experience can be catered to your desire; however, the traditional 6 day, 5 night expedition will be filled with snorkeling with wild dolphins, sharks, and stingrays, fishing for dinner, hand-on educational experiences, and relaxing on a beach with nobody in sight.  Please see our availability and rates page and contact us for explicit details about the expeditions.  For 2017, these trips are offered in the first two weeks of the following months:  November-February.

Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica

Craig has lived in rainforest environments all over the world for well over 8 months.  He's come face to face with pumas, crocodiles, tarantulas the size of dinner plates, along with many other forms of wildlife.

For your experience, you will be staying in a resort like no other.  If you saw the TV show "Lost" than you may have an idea of the aesthetic beauty of this location.  Nonetheless, this trip will be an adventure of a lifetime.  You will take a scenic flight to the Osa Peninsula where you will then be given one of two choices.  Take a 3-mile long trip to the resort by donkey or take a beatiful hike along a beach that terminates into the lush rainforest.  Once at the resort, you will unpack in your "tree tents" (i.e. tents that are in the rainforest canopy where you come face to face with monkeys on almost a daily basis) and the 7 day, 6 night expedition will begin.  This expedition will be filled with unique wildlife encounters, intense hiking, educational experiences, night hikes, and relaxing on hammocks that reside along the beach.  Please see our availability and rates page and contact us for explicit details about the expeditions.  For 2017, these trips are offered in the last week of the following months:  February-May.
